How to import your accounts with a CSV data source?

Before Kiflo can detect overlaps, it needs your list of accounts. This article explains how to upload your customers, opportunities, and prospects using a CSV data source.

Prerequisites

  • You must have the Account Mapping addon enabled on your Kiflo account.
  • You need a CSV file containing the accounts you want to import. Each file should contain a single account type (prospects, opportunities, or customers).

Adding a CSV data source

From Account Mapping → Accounts, click Add CSV data source in the top-right corner. (The same button is also on the Data sources page.)

In the Add CSV data source dialog:

  • Select account file: drag and drop your CSV onto the upload area, or click to browse. The file must be a valid CSV.
  • Account type: choose Prospects, Opportunities, or Customers.
  • Click Add (disabled until a valid file and account type are selected).

Kiflo then imports the accounts from your file and begins detecting overlaps with your partners' accounts.

What happens after importing

  • Your imported accounts appear on the Accounts page, each tagged with the Source data source they came from and an Imported date.
  • Kiflo compares your accounts against your partners' accounts and starts counting overlaps in the Partner prospects, Partner opportunities, and Partner customers columns.

Tips for a clean import

  • Use a separate file (and therefore a separate data source) for each account type, since the account type is set per data source.
  • Make sure each account has a unique identifier. Files with duplicate external IDs may fail to import and show an Error status on the Data sources page.
